Re: unrar: filename with German special characters

Please keep in mind that my wrapper script is not working unfortunately. Please have a look at my later comment from 06 Oct 2019, 14:34. It's actually using a different version of unrar, that's why it is working.

Re: unrar: filename with German special characters

Ok, I did some more testing and I think it's more complicated than I thought unfortunately. That "unrar.sh" trick didn't solve the problem because of LANG=en_US.UTF-8, but because "unrar ..." in that shell script starts another version of unrar. I changed the unrar.sh script to verify this: First I ...

Re: unrar: filename with German special characters

I had the same problem recently with this release: Stumptown.S01E01.1080p.AMZN.WEB-DL.DDP5.1.H.264-NTb Unrar didn't work because of a ’ instead of ' in filename. The unrar.sh workaround did the trick here. Content of unrar.sh: #!/bin/sh export LANG=en_US.UTF-8 unrar "$@" exit $? UnrarCMD parameter: ...

Re: NZBget for Synology

Cleanup shouldn‘t be needed, the official package uses the same user and group afaik. You should delete the startup task though, the SynoCommunity package will handle the start/stop from now on. I‘m not 100% sure about HDD hibernation. I personally use a symlink so the folder is still on my flash dr...

Re: NZBget for Synology

Probably the easiest method: Use the official SynoCommunity package. This basically installs almost the same way I described in my tutorial. You should be able to update to the latest version afterwards via NZBGet itself.

Re: NZBget for Synology

Well, you should definitely save your old config so you can restore parts of those settings in your new package later. I wouldn't recommend restoring the full config as some important paths will/must be different for some settings (like WebDir or ConfigTemplate). That old NZBget folder won't be used...

Re: NZBget for Synology

I created that user because the original syno package had created that user as well. It’s just a security thing and shouldn’t be required actually, root or your ssh login user should work too. I’m pretty sure your problem exists because of wrong permissions for the nzbget folder and/or files inside....

Re: NZBGet log had grown to over 85Gb!

Had the same problem a few days ago. Log file went amok and blew up my 32GB USB drive partition. Process finally crashed after free space was gone.

I had to write back a backup of NZBget as history and queue files were damaged. I also disabled DetailLog for now, working fine again :D

Re: NZBget for Synology

Yeah, that's the problem: Updating doesn't work with that DSM package. It's the way that package is deployed. They just drop some files in a directory, add a start script and some other things like creating a new user and that's it. Since DSM 6 there are even some problems with the start s...
