Re: Resource Hog ?

I installed another 8GB of RAM and a new Samsung 500GB SSD to replace my OS Hard Drive. I have only downloaded a few files with NZBGet but the difference is quite noticeable. I can now multitask when NZBGet is doing it's thing. I didn't want to move NZBGet to my slow storage drive, since it would bo...

Re: Resource Hog ?

I guess that the 99% is the PAR process at work (repairing the downloads). I think it's quite easy to create a full load to the harddisk as they're relatively slow (and nzbget is very fast!). This can be a problem in your case because you're using a desktop and want to do some other things as well ...

Re: Resource Hog ?

During NZBGet post-processing tonight, I managed to check the Task Manager. Memory was 36% but Disk Usage was 99%. As soon as NZBGet finished processing, the Disk Usage dropped to 1%. I ordered more memory and will install another 8GB this Wednesday. In the meantime I have to schedule a disk check (...

Re: Resource Hog ?

My download speeds using NZBGet have been pretty good. They average 100 MB/s. File processing often takes longer than the download. I'm a retired computer tech and I'm pretty sure my hard drive is not failing. I use Microsoft's Windows Defender to run a quick anti-virus scan once a day, so that shou...

Resource Hog ?

My setup: NZBGet 20.0-testing-r2147 Sonarr 2.0.0.5085 Dell i5 Desktop (i5-4440), 8gb RAM, Windows 10 Verizon gigabit internet When I instruct Sonarr to download an entire season of any TV Series, NZBGet starts to download & process files in queue. During this time (up to 1 hour), I cannot use my com...

Re: Downloading Headers question

Thanks. I wasn't aware that both servers (set to level 0) were being used simultaneously. That makes sense.

If I set the 2nd Server to level 1, would it only be accessed when the main server fails to respond for any reason ?

Last question: Are NewsDemon and UsenetExpress on different backbones ?

Downloading Headers question

I used "newsgroups" about 20 years ago before it was called Usenet. I'm pretty sure I know what "downloading headers" means. The headers contains information about what's in the newsgroups (text only), right ? Well, fast forward to Nov 2017. I decided to abandon torrents and shift to Usenet since si...

Re: Start with Windows 10 fails sometimes

I downloaded a file manually tonight using NZBHydra and the DL speed was 750KB/s. I am used to getting speeds over 100MB/s (gigabit internet).

I turned off WriteLog and the speed went back up again.

Is this normal ?

Re: Start with Windows 10 fails sometimes

WriteLog was set to "none". I just set it to "rotate". Not sure what you mean by "option LogFile" I found nzbget.log in C:\ProgramData\NZBGet and it's dated 9/4/2017 Another new log file was just generated a few minutes ago when I changed WriteLog to "Rotate". That file is titled: nzbget-2017-11-03....

Re: Start with Windows 10 fails sometimes

I opened nzbget.log and it only covers Aug 30th - Sep 3rd. Are there any settings in logging that I should have made ? Am I to assume the logs are only kept for 3 days ? I just installed the debug-version of nzbget and DebugTarget was already set to log. I just made 2 changes in "Logging" WriteLog: ...
