How complex is your RSS filter? It may contain commands to pause items.

The path you entered in nzbget is probably wrong.
To get a correct path open terminal and then drag-drop the directory from Finder into terminal window. It will print the path.

You can use scheduler (see settings page) to pause/resume postprocessing on certain day times.

The service starts it as user "nzbget". Test from a terminal (nzbget -s) if you can start it properly with that user account. You can also add output redirecting (> mylog.text) to service start command to capture error output into a file. Also for troubleshooting it's better to use "nzbget -s" to ca...

You can start nzbget with -D instead of -s to run in background.

I don't use service file and probably can't help but if you post its content maybe others help.

There are no such settings in NZBGet.
Do you have a Usenet account? From your post it seems you are trying to use nzbget for general file downloading. This tool is not for that.
