Ok for example in openvpn https://doc.pfsense.org/index.php/Are_c ... _supported you can add

engine cryptodev

in your config file and it will use the openssl cryptodev engine.

How can I achieve this in nzbget?

May be by configuring OpenSSL to use the engine? During compiling of OpenSSL or via some config files, I don't know.

Have you compared the speed numbers with RC4? Most likely the software version of RC4 will be faster than a hardware version of another cipher.

Yes the engine shows up and is working when I encrypt/decrypt a file with openssl. But not in nzbget.
RC4? Nah insecure.
