RSS feed result in disk spinup

Post by harrim4n » 04 Feb 2014, 09:53

Hi,

I am using a dockstar for running nzbget. The OS is on a thumbdrive and the dest. and temp. dir of nzbget are on an external HDD. Formerly (with nzbget 11) the disk would just stay spun down if I wasn't downloading anything. But since 12 the disk spins up periodically. I noticed that it always happened shortly after the RSS scripts are checked. Since the default is 15 minutes, the disk spins down after a few minutes and then spins up again.
Would it be possible to maybe cache the feeds in /tmp/ or so? Because right now the disk spins up and down constantly which greatly increases the wear on it.
For now I just set the interval to 120 minutes, but this isn't really optimal.

If option DirectWrite is active the TempDir is not used for downloading and you can set TempDir to /tmp.
