Nope. Using unrar 5.2 now, still estimating 2.5 hours...
How can I cleanly stop the current unpacking operation within NZBGet? I'd like to try testing via terminal...

Click on the item in the download list, then on button "Actions", then "Cancel post-processing".

Ha. When I did that, it deleted all the data. Argh!
Ok, I tried downloading the same show via Sabnzbd and it unparred it in about 20 seconds.
Something is wrong.

Unrar performance is independent of what NZB downloader you are running. Both NZBGet and Sabnzbd depend on the system's unrar (or the unrar that is bundled with the package) to do the unpacking. So something is off with unrar or the way things are set up...Not sure here

Yeah, I hear you. Not sure what else to check...
SABnzbd is using "UNRAR 5.11 freeware Copyright (c) 1993-2014 Alexander Roshal" but I doubt that matters.
I've pretty much left most things at default in NZBGet. I changed my ArticleCache to 1000 MB due to your note...

Are you sure? Nothing should be deleted. The item goes to the history (where you can restart post-processing) and files remain in InterDir.
Have you setup the new unrar in NZBGet settings (option UnrarCmd)?

The data was wiped out of the intermediate directory. Could it be somewhere else still?
Yes, I did setup the new unrar with UnrarCmd, and NZBGet is definitely using that one now.
