After upgrading 16.4 --> 17.0 my download is less then 1/3.
Normally I get around 36Mb/s and now 10Mb/s, I also notice that the spinning green wheel (Download Active) is choppy now.
Went back to 16.4 and all normal again.

Please do more testing with the same nzb.
If that still happens, check via task manager if there are processes taking too much CPU usage, an antivirus or something else.
I also assume you test on the same machine and the settings are exactly same (especially news server config).

Was testing with the same NZB, let me check again and see if I can get some more info.
Same machine same settings indeed.
update: CPU is using 100%, 80% nzbget.exe (32 bit) and 20% other (windows) tasks.

How high is CPU load when the downloading is paused?
When the web-browser isn't opened (but download is active)?
When only one news-server connection is active?
All above numbers also in comparison with v16.
Check options FlushQueue (try disabling), DirectWrite (try on/off), ArticleCache (try 0, 100, 500).
@Samplex: see my first reply in this thread.

Here you go:
How high is CPU load when the downloading is paused?
it drops down again to 7% (all running tasks combined)
When the web-browser isn't opened (but download is active)?
Also 100%
When only one news-server connection is active?
40% but only 3 MB/s download.
All above numbers also in comparison with v16.
Only checked cpu wile ago and it was around 40-50%
Check options FlushQueue (try disabling), DirectWrite (try on/off), ArticleCache (try 0, 100, 500).
FlushQueue, no difference.
DirectWrite, no difference.
ArticleCache, no difference.
CPU rockets to 100% and PC becomes very laggy with any off the above options on/off or changed.

40% for one connection and 3 MB/s seems to be way too much. Do you mean v16 utilize 40-50% CPU for one connection as well? How fast goes v16 with one connection?
