@ronrosenfeld: Are you sure it's not available for your NAS?

@humbug

I have the latest linuxserver v19 installed through docker.

Can I install the beta v20 using NZBGet, or do I need to wait for it be available via Docker repository?

I'm wondering how limited my unpack process is at the moment due to only 2GB RAM. Would updating to 16GB help?

Mine look like this:

And also make sure to change these like this (to use the correct unrar/7z binaries instead of the system ones):

Thank you so much for the guide!
I successfully installed NZBget to my DS216+II.

One question though:
I installed to an USBStick. Should I change the paths like Maindir and Tempdir?
I don´t want to strain the USBStick with constant writes.

You're welcome! Glad it works for you :D

Well, I use NZBget (and Sonarr and Radarr) all on my USB stick so I won't wake up the HDDs all the time. Of course you could change the paths and/or reinstall to another path, sure.

I think the most important paths that shouldn't point to a USB stick are DestDir and InterDir as those are constantly written during downloads. Not sure about TempDir, I don't think that's used that much though.

Can't really give you an advise for what would be the right choice here. I personally don't have any problems with my USB stick, running for over a year now. But a friend of mine had 2 sticks dying already so that might be stressful for some sticks. I'm using a "SanDisk Ultra Fit 16GB" for what it's worth.

Cheers!

Code: Select all

su - nzbget /volume1/\@appstore/nzbget/nzbget -D
Please accept my apologies for being a noob but it still doesn't really work me :-|
When I manually start nzbget with SSH and
cd /volume1/@appstore/nzbget
nzbget -D
everything works as expected and with the right config file.

On the other hand, If I have the task planner start it on a restart via DSM the job "/volume1/@appstore/nzbget/nzbget -D" running as root starts with the wrong configuration file ans my settings are f*#ked up...? Is there any way to point nzbget to the config file via a shell option for my task? Couldn't find it, thank you guys!

Well, something is wrong in your setup then. Maybe you didn‘t actually create the user the right way or your file permissions are kinda fucked up. Not sure, hard to tell from here.

You can of course always run nzbget with root permissons, although not a good idea in general.

You already pasted your answer to your config file question:

Code: Select all

-c, --configfile <file> Filename of configuration-file
In your case:

Code: Select all

-c /volume1/\@appstore/nzbget/nzbget.conf

Ok, then I will leave it like this.

Perhaps hugbug can shed some light on what NZBget does in the temp and main dir.

MainDir is only for references from other options. TempDir is for all sort of things, most importantly for article data if option DirectWrite is disabled, but also for rss feeds data etc.

Hey guys,
I'm considering uninstalling my NZBget syno package and manually installing it as suggested so that I can have the latest build, but I'm worried about my rss feeds. I really don't want to re-enter all 400 of them and I see from reading this forum there might be some issues with loading the config save file from version 17, where I'm guessing all of the rss feeds would be saved.
Is there a fix for that? or a work-around?

I posted in another thread a few months back but I don't think anyone actually read that.

In case anyone still needs a step-by-step guide to installing NZBget on a Synology NAS, I did this myself (Synology DS916+) a while ago and wrote down every step in detail, so here you go:
[snip]
Thank you very much for this guide! I've got everything working but I've got one problem now: Downloades files get this file rights: drwxr-xr-x
But I want them to get drwxrwxrwx or at least drwxrwxr-x. Can you help with this issue?

Thanks in advance
