Download item stuck at "queued"

Post by Departed » 25 Oct 2017, 20:29

I have a particular item that I can't get rid of. It is stuck in "queued" status. I can't delete or restart the item. Any action I try simply goes back to queued. The grey window shows up saying "Deleted" but the item doesn't go away. I've tried restarting the nzbget app, I've even tried restarting the computer it is running on. But nothing I do will get rid of this download. Any ideas?

This post is similar to what I'm experiencing. All items sitting in "Downloads" with the status queued; however, nothing is downloading (see attachment).

Just setting this up for the first time with NZBGet, Sonarr, and NZBgeek.

I am not seeing any errors anywhere. Anyone have ideas? Thx!!

Click at the plane icon near nzbget logo. Are there any active servers?

Looks like you don't have any news servers defined in the settings. Go to Settings -> News servers -> Add server. Put your server config there.

I'm experiencing a similar issue but I have no problem deleting the files. I have Sonarr tied into NZBGet and it adds the files but stays queued and won't start the download. I was under the impression I didn't need to add a new server to NZBG if I'm letting Sonarr do that work from a RSS Feed?

To download from Usenet you do need a Usenet (news) server. What you don't need is Sonarr; you can use it if you want but it doesn't eliminate the need for news server.

I get that, but I thought you added your news server info into Sonarr with an API key?

NZBG is even creating a .queued file in the directory I want it to be saved in.

This article tries to explain the things - https://www.reddit.com/r/Usenet/wiki/faq.

In short:
To download from Usenet you need a news server and a news downloader. The second is NZBGet, the first you have to buy a subscription for. Once you have NZBGet configured to use your news server account you can add nzb-files to NZBGet and it will download files from news server. The nzb-file contains info about where the files in Usenet are located. NZBGet uses that info to know what to ask from news servers.

There are special web-sites which specialise on cataloguing Usenet content. These sites are commonly called indexers. On indexer you can search for a movie title and it get's you an nzb-file with all necessary infos about the files belonging to that movie. You download that nzb-file from indexer web-site and adds that nzb-file to nzbget. Then NZBGet downloads the movie from your news server. There is no way around this, you do need a news server and they usually cost money.

Now, if you don't want to go everyday to your indexer web-site to search if a certain movie or tv show has become available for download you can automate that part. Sonarr can help with that. It's not necessary but it adds a certain level of comfort. In no way can it replace a news server account.

Sorry I should have clarified I pay for access to a nzbfinder.ws and am using that as an indexer.

There are no error messages it just stays at queued
