NZBget running docker flip flops back and forth between queued and downloading

Post by plazman30 » 12 Aug 2018, 02:17

Hello all.

I have an Ubuntu 18.04.1 server running Docker and I installed nzbget from this Docker image:

https://hub.docker.com/r/linuxserver/nzbget/

When something starts downloading, it seems top flip flop back and forth between Downloading and Queued. The download eventually finishes successfully. But if I have 3 things going at once, it will hope between them as one goes to queued for some reason.

Using nzbget 0.20.

I have exactly the same problem, the status flips between queued and downloading every couple of seconds causing the download to go much slower. I also use that docker image on my Synology NAS. I have deactivated direct unpack but that did not seem to make any difference. Anybody else have an idea how to fix this?

Please post last couple of hundreds of lines from the log-file. Preferably via pastebin.com.

Hey -

I recently started using NZBGet inside a docker container and have noticed this issue also. Here is a paste bin of my logs:

https://pastebin.com/XQi9u0jE

You can see around the 21:04:13 mark there is a 4 second gap before where nothing happens. This corresponds to the gaps seen in the image:

It happens again at 21:04:27.

I have direct unpack enabled.

edit: without direct unpack I still get the problem:

Code: Select all

Had some time to fiddle with this and I seem to have worked out how to fix the issue:
  • I experimented with the number of connections and reduced that down to the point where I get my maximum speed.
  • Disabled Flush Queue.
I have a feeling the flush queue setting is the culprit here really.

With this I pretty much remain around my max speed without any random drops. Gone from approx 1.7GB per minute to 2.5GB per minute, and this was with the same network conditions at home and with the same NZB file.
