those instructions are beyond basic..
"G:\GitHubApps\nzbget\nzbget.vcxproj" (default target) (1) ->
(ClCompile target) ->
G:\GitHubApps\nzbget\daemon\main\nzbget.h(257): fatal error C1083: Cannot open include file: 'openssl/ssl.h': No such
file or directory [G:\GitHubApps\nzbget\nzbget.vcxproj]
i can't get past this..

There is still some work to be done for the next testing release.
What particular improvement since latest testing release you are interested in?

anything related to issue #591, am curious if it'll fix my speed issues, or if i have an underlying io bottleneck... missing zlib and regex to build in visual studio 2017 x64.. was able to to build 32bit.

For 64 bits you need to build zlib and regex yourself.
I can send you current development build if you want. Send me a note to
nzbget@gmail.com.
