I have gmail and I created an app specific password for NZBGet to use. I also installed Python and I am getting an operation timed out error. What do I need to do other than installing python? Do I have to run something? I see a launcher icon (I am using a Mac). I run that and try again and I get the same error.
Not sure what I am doing wrong.
Error I am getting
Executing script EMail.py with command ConnectionTest
EMail: Script successfully started
EMail: Creating Email
EMail: Sending E-Mail
EMail: [Errno 60] Operation timed out
Script EMail.py with command ConnectionTest failed

Server settings are incorrect or the port is blocked.
You should use "smtp.gmail.com" for option "Server" and 25 for "Port", encryption must be "yes".
I have no experience with application password in gmail. I'm using an extra created gmail account which is configured to forward e-mails to my main account. Then I use the username/password of this extra account in nzbget. Works without issues. Just tried button "Send test e-mail" and it worked.

Does your username include the "@gmail.com" or just your ID?
I also tried another test account and it still did not work. I wonder it if is something on my Mac blocking port 25. My firewall is off.

I finally got this fixed. Just posting my solution in case someone else is trying to solve the same problem, this worked for me.
I changed my port to 587 and created a google app specific password.
Ran a test and it worked fine.
