Restarting hanging child process for unpack...stuck

Post by Balward » 05 Sep 2019, 18:13

System and Config:
Dual Xeon L5640
16GB RAM
UnRAID
NZBGet running in Docker
Files downloaded to cache drive (SSD) before being moved to array when completed.

Problem:

Sometimes a file will get stuck trying to unpack, and the log shows

Code: Select all

Restarting hanging child process for unpack for FILENAME
Other unpacks work without a problem but every now and then one seems to get stuck. I will manually delete it when I see it, but when checking logs it retries for an unlimited amount of time it seems.

So two questions: What might be causing this? And is there a way to fail the unpack after X amount of retries/minutes.

For unknown reason this docker image has this issue. It was discussed here - https://github.com/nzbget/nzbget/issues/558 and there is no fix.

All you can do is to switch to another docker image or install nzbget on the system directly.

Interesting. Okay, I'll give a different docker image a try and report back in a couple days. Thanks for the help!
