Extension Scripts, run as root

Post by maxmax » 20 Jan 2020, 16:27

Hello,

I have built a custom script which require root privileges. It is working outside nzbget in my dev env, but unfortunately I am getting "ping permission denied (are you root?)".
The script checks if my NAS is online via ping, if no - pauses downloads, if yes, mounts the nfs if necessary and resumes downloads.

How can I achieve to have nzb running the script as root?
Thanks, Max

Try google for "give ping privilege to other user".

I didn't think of adding nzbget user to root group, since mounting anyways requires root too.
Sometimes you don't see the tree because of all the wood.

Thanks
