I guess I find it.

You use the program in standalone mode (nzbget file.nzb). In this mode TLS-library is not initialized properly (a bug).
Please test if it works in server or daemon mode:

nzbget -s
Then put nzb-file into monitoring directory (option "nzbdir") or pass the file from another terminal:

nzbget -A file.nzb

Yep, you're right, in server mode the download is working fine.

That's a workaround I can live with, so thanks very much :) If you come up with a fix I'd be happy to test it for you.
