In the current version NY is detected as language code and removed from title. In the next version language detection will be disabled to avoid such problems.

Version 3.0:
  • added for seasoned TV shows: if year in the file name goes directly after show name, it will be added to show name. This may be necessary for media players like XBMC, Boxee or Plex (or anyone using TheTVDB) to properly index TV show. New option "SeriesYear" to disable this if necessary;
  • added detection of obfuscated file names; if such file name is detected a nzb-name is used instead.

You have python 3, but videosort works only with python 2.

Version 4.0:
  • improved detection of obfuscated file and directory names;
  • added support for DNZB-Headers "X-DNZB-ProperName", "X-DNZB-EpisodeName", "X-DNZB-MovieYear";
  • removed support for DNZB-Header "X-DNZB-UseNZBName" (which is not supported by nzb-sites anymore);
  • new option "DNZBHeaders" to disable using of DNZB-Headers if necessary;
  • new format specifier "%imdb" and "%cpimdb", requires DNZB-Header "X-DNZB-MoreInfo" (thanks Chris Hamilton for the patch);
  • removing invalid characters from generated file name;
  • updated guessit-library to the newest release - this fixes several issues.

A little info about new DNZB-Headers "X-DNZB-ProperName", "X-DNZB-EpisodeName", "X-DNZB-ProperName".

Newznab based sites parse movie and tv show names from file names, then they do web-crawling to validate movie and tv show names via imdb and tv rage sites. For successfully validates titles field "ProperName" indicates the official name. For tv shows field "EpisodeName" is set to, well, episode name, which is rarely available in the original nzb file name or video file name. Thanks to "X-DNZB-EpisodeName" VideoSort is now able to put episode name into generated file name for almost any tv show (use "%en", "%eN", etc.).

Dogzipp who has initially implemented these headers on his site, has contributed the code into main newznab code base. Any newznab based sites can start using these new headers any time now.

thanks for this superb script! i really love it :)

i have just one question:
Is it possible to keep the .nfo file in the orginal filename + the renamed video file?
i'm using Deletesamples with Videosort and can't seem to find a way doing this :roll:
