[Synology NAS] Fixed non-ASCII chars (2013/11/03)

Post by LapinFou » 03 Nov 2013, 15:56

AIf you've got some bucks to spend, please give first to NZBGet and SynoCommunity, then you can think to me :)

First all, a big thanks to Andrey Prygunkov for showing me the way to do post-processing with NZBGet.

What the script will do for you:
It will fix all foreign characters which are not managed by NZBGet, when it is running on a Synology NAS.

NOTE: This script is for the users wich have a correct configuration running on a Synology NAS with NZBGet and Python installed from Synocommunity repo.

Download the attached file (end of this message) on your NAS, then type the flowing commands through a Telnet connection from where the file has been copied:

Code: Select all

unzip CharTransProcess_1v0.zip
cp CharTransProcess.py /usr/local/nzbget/share/nzbget/ppscripts/
chown nzbget:root /usr/local/nzbget/share/nzbget/ppscripts/CharTransProcess.py
For chown command, you may check the correct ownership with this command:

Code: Select all

ll /usr/local/nzbget/share/nzbget/ppscripts/

drwxr-xr-x 3 nzbget root 4096 Nov 3 13:58 .
drwxr-xr-x 4 nzbget root 4096 Nov 3 13:55 ..
-rwxr-xr-x 1 nzbget root 8183 Sep 1 10:47 EMail.py
-rwxr-xr-x 1 nzbget root 3705 Sep 1 10:47 Logger.py
drwxr-xr-x 7 nzbget root 4096 Nov 3 13:55 nzbToMedia
By default it must be "nzbget:root". If not, then run the chown command with the correct parameters.

Restart NZBGet.

Finally, you must setup this script as default:

Et voilà!

Hi LapinFou and thanks for the script. Is in your version any difference against the version from this thread?

I removed some checks. Indeed if you download a file which is not an archive, then the script was not executed.

fine, so I will use your script instead of the "old" one. Thank you!

I don't know. I'm mainly using SABnzbd. I just created this script to try to help NZBGet users, but I don't use it anymore (meaning this is one of my last message. I will no more support it).

Try the script I ported for NZBGet: http://nzbget.net/forum/viewtopic.php?f=8&t=1474

It was confirmed to work on Synology...it fixes the encoding and adds to the Syno DLNA Index
