Frequent Inability to Find NZBPlanet

Post by KiwiNibbler » 09 Sep 2017, 07:00

When it works, it works. When it doesn't I have no idea why. It's been a few weeks of not working. I made no changes. It just no longer works. This is fairly common. BTW: The website loads fine.

It doesn't work at all or sporadically?
The moment it doesn't work, try pinging the host from command prompt (at the same computer). Does it work?
Is nzbget running as application or as service?

It just happened one minute ago. It is running as a "desktop app" on Windows 10 but it is actually in a browser window. I can ping it with no issues at all. But it is interesting (maybe) that the first ping took 681 ms. Maybe NZBGet pings it, waits 250 ms, times out and considers it a failure.

But their website opens with no issues every time.

Before nzbgfet can connect it uses system function "getaddrinfo" to get IP for the host name. This function fails and nzbget prints the error message you see.

Why it is failing I don't know. I would expect ping to use that same function, strange that ping works. What happens if you try in nzbget just after you tested the ping?

And once again: in nzbget it doesn't work at all or sporadically?

Also in addition to ping please also try nslookup.
