Post by denywinarto » 20 Feb 2019, 00:47

Hi, i've had nzbget for a while, but lately i've noticed that it fails to add nzb file and requires reboot to work..

any idea why?
the version is 20.0.0

More info would be helpful. Is the program still running? Does web-interface work? How do you add nzb? Why do you think it wasn't added?

Yes program running and the web interface still works.
I'm using it for sonarr and radarr.
Both would show red error when tried adding to nzbget, i had to restart nzbget to get it working again.
The log says something about permission issue IIRC, next time it happens again i will post the log

It happens again, the log says,
Could not create file N:\temp\tmp\nzb-771.tmp
when i try to add an nzb file from radarr. Any idea why? it used to work yesterday.
Restarting the nzbget fixes it, but that means i cannot rely it to automatically handle my downloads.

Could not create file N:\temp\tmp\nzb-771.tmp
Is this a local disk?
Try local drive for temp.

It's a drivepool-based JBOD rack connected using LSI-sas 3000-8e,
You mean i should store it in C? Will it bloat the drive though?

I this a SMB drive? If so, I've had similar issues which I've posted about in this forum.

If you go into N:/temp/tmp/ can you create a file or a subdirectory?

Always use local drive for TempDir and especially QueueDir. These directories consume very little space (a few megabytes).

At best use remote drive for DestDir only. Even InterDir should be local if possible. That's also good for best speed.

If you run NZBGet as a service then don't use remote drives with paths via letters as those drive letter mappings don't play nice with services. Use UNC paths instead.

No it's not SMB, Drivepool creates some kind of pool from a bunch of drives.
And from that pool it creates a single drive letter to simplify multiple drives operation.
It's similar to microsoft storage space i think.

I havent tested creating a file / folder when the error occurs,
but right now it works just fine.

Alright, i will try relocating temp to C drive, hopefully it'll solve it.
