Prevent NZBGet from continously spinning HDD

Post by DeadlyKnapsack » 23 Dec 2015, 08:32

I installed NZBGet on my Synology, but I think it keeps the HDD spinning continously. This probably has to do with some logs being written. Is there a change in configuration that prevents this? I remember some time ago, I had NZBGet running on my Raspberry PI and I saved the logs to the SD and actual downloads to an external USB HD. THis way, when it was "idle" it wasn't spinning up the HD, but only using the SD. Is it possible to do something like this on my NAS too?

Check settings in PATHS-section.

Yeah, I know how to change the paths. Do you recommend sticking in a flash drive or something? I rather have my disks hibernating when it's not downloading anything.

It checks only in NzbDir. You can either put it on flash or disable scanning via NzbDirInterval if you don't need automatic adding of files found in NzbDir.

Logging writes to disk too (if configured) but usually there are no loggable events when download queue is empty.

Thanks for the tip. I am not using the auto add functionality. I will disable and see if the HDD spins down.
